Be Steadfast in Your Pursuit: 10 minutes to freedom
Do you feel lost in the negativity of this world? Do you know how amazing you are?
A life of fear or freedom?
You would be amazed at the benefits of a daily 10 minute guided meditation. The news reports only the most extreme circumstances and violent crimes. Our jobs are typically high stress. We (Americans in particular) are not taking to decompress. We are not sleeping enough as a culture and as a result we see an increase in disease, illness, and burnout. Why do we do this? Fear.
What does a life of fear look like? To me, it looks like outward focus. It is someone who is stuck in “victim mode”.... "if only I were ____", "if only my lover would do ____", "I'll never be enough". This is someone who is looking for a solution on the outside of themselves. What I mean by that is, if we choose to look at our perceived mistakes or undesirable circumstances as something that has worked against us then it will continue to do so. If we choose to look at it from the perspective of love, then there are no mistakes; only lessons.
How can a 10 minute guided meditation help?
Our human brain is highly programmable. When I meditate, science has now proven, that if I meditate for at least 10 minutes per day I will start to change the physical structure of my brain. My amygdala (fight, flight, or freeze response, emotions and stress signals to the endocrine system) will begin to actually decrease in activity, and my hippocampus (reasoning, logic, and creativity) activity will increase. With just a 10 minute guided meditation each day, I will begin to feel the effects instantly but brain scans would confirm the transformation in just two months... that's only 8 weeks, or 56 days!
Once I begin to practice my 10 minute guided meditation daily, I will be able to see where my focus has been. I will realize that if I take the high vibration road of looking at my misfortune and mistakes as lessons, then there is only one possible outcome… TRANSFORMATION. This is the evolutionary process but it starts with making a change... WE MUST RITUALIZE our 10 minute guided meditation practice. If we do not make it a ritual wee will not do it. A ritual has meaning and we do it because we believe in the meaning. I want to encourage you to give your 10 minute guided meditation meaning.
For if we get stuck in that “poor me” mentality [and trust me it is hard to avoid at times] then, guess what?... the law of attraction says you get more of that. We do not manifest that which we want, but that which we feel we are! Not only do we get more victimhood, and suffering but it becomes easier for us to attract it.
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed but that our power to do has increased.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have a twofold challenge for you; 1) I challenge you to notice what you are focused on in life right now. What do you go to bed worrying about? Before you drift off to sleep, rather than feeling the worry and embodying the undesired state, try focusing on your heart. Bring the desired feeling to your heart as if the wish [that would ease the cause of your suffering] fulfilled. Keep feeling the wish fulfilled even if you cannot intellectually understand just how it will unfold. We do not worry or focus on the details. Now we trust, and surrender. and
Challenge 2) Meditate. Try using just a 10 minute guided meditation. Start off once per day. If you can use a 10 minute guided meditation twice per day then I encourage you to start. The ideal time for meditation is first thing in the morning and in the evening. As my teacher davidji has two wonderful acronyms to help us remember, R.P.M. ~ Rise, Pee, Meditate & R.A.W. ~ Right After Work.
Starting your day with a 10 minute guided meditation will allow you to set a clear intention for your day. You will be able to start the day with a clear canvas, ready to manifest greatness. This will allow you to move through the day with a sense of calm allowing naturally for greater grace, and greater ease.
When we end the day with a 10 minute guided meditation we allow ourselves to move into sleep with a clear mind. This 10 minute guided meditation should allow you to release the day; regardless what came of your day, be it good, bad or indifferent. Science has shown how important sleep is and if you need examples look at the Center for Human Sleep Science and the work of Dr. Mathew Walker.
Be steadfast in your pursuit for emotional, spiritual, physical, and financial freedom. There is a sweetness to life that can only be found when we have a mindfulness practice. Spend time in nature as often as possible, but at least daily. Consider starting a 10 minute guided meditation practice, or ramp up your current meditation practice because science has shown that a daily, and consistent meditation practice has an enormous impact on our physiology, and stress levels. Take the time to pray [to God, Jesus, the Universe or the Pleadians] everyday.

The point is, be persistent at something positive for yourself. If we want to see change in the world… yada yada yada. It really does start with the self. You will be amazed how quickly life starts to “happen”, in the best way possible. The Universe really is a conspiracy for our benefit. The only question is, can you surrender and trust?
All these [seekers] are indeed noble, but I regard the wise as My very Self, because the one who is steadfast becomes one with the Supreme Being. Bhagavad Gita
